5 commonly occurring diseases in children during summer
When summer comes, children get affected with few
common summer illnesses like a sore throat, cold, fever etc. You can prevent
your child from common summer illness by taking few right precautions. Let’s
take a look at 5 common summer illness of children-
1. Sunstroke or Heatstroke: Usually children suffer from sunstroke or
heatstroke when they keep playing under the sunshine for a long time. Sun heat
causes dehydration. Without taking proper care of hydrating children, sunstroke
can happen. Also, the children can suffer from the fever which can last several
days.
2. Boils: In summer, temperature raises & boils may come up in different parts
of children’s body. Must consult a doctor in this case.
3. Polio: Polio is another common disease in summer. At the beginning, children
suffer from fever and sore throat & later on this can lead to meningitis or
paralysis. Talking polio vaccination on time can save your baby.
4. Water-Borne Diseases: During summer, children are affected with various
water-borne diseases like cholera, typhoid, jaundice, dysentery, diarrhea,

5. Food Poisoning and Mosquito-Borne Diseases: Food is the easiest way to get infected. To keep your children protected

1. Don’t buy them roadside fruits. Avoid spicy
& flavored food. Clean fruits properly with fresh water.
2. Encourage your children to drink plenty of
water. Make sure what they are drinking is virus & germ-free.
3. Make sure you have enough fresh drinking
water, juice or liquid food with you while outing.
4. Fiber food helps the digestion process. Give
your child food rich in fiber.
5. Liquid food like lemon juice, coconut water is
enriched with nutrition. They can prevent dehydration. Keep this food in your
list for children.
6. Buy loose fitting cloths for your children.
7. Make your child do some exercise early in the
morning or evening.
