Looking for Ideas to Play with Your Child? Try These 7 Tips
There is no child but
loves to play. Every child wants the family members to spend some time playing
with him/her. Just because you think, as a conscious mother, that the time you
child plays can be the most suitable occasion for his/her mental growth, you
might find it difficult to get ideas what or how to play with your child. A
woman becomes a mother just with the birth of her child. So, it is likely that
mothers remain too concerned about the wellbeing of their children.
In order to diminish
your concerns, here are some ideas which will not only help you make the
moments of playing joyous but also help achieve your child’s mental and
intellectual growth.
Indulge in talks with
your child:
Remove the toys around
your child and start talking with him/her with moving hands and making facial
gestures. You will see your child starting to talk with you in return. This
idea will help you play with the child and assist with her mental development.
Read story books to
your child:
While reading books to
your child and playing with him/her are different, you can choose books with
colorful pages and vivid pictures. Place your baby in your laps and read
stories aloud to him/her. In the meantime, you may introduce him/her to
different colors and pictures and ask questions. Do not forget to encourage or
bravo your child on his/her interest in the activity.
Make the floor of your
house your child’s playground:
Being much busy with
household matters, you usually get little time to take your child out to
playgrounds. Why don’t you think of having your child beside you while doing
household works instead of making him/her sit like a statue in the middle of a
pile of toys? Doing this, you will see your dear baby playing happily around
you along with the household activities finished with comfort.
Watch movies with your
child:
Instead of keeping your
child away from TV while you watch or going away putting the remote in his/her
hands, you can start watching suitable TV programs with your child. Try to
remove your adulthood from mind and befriend your child during this time. Due
to this, your child will be able to enjoy boundless joy and advance much
towards his/her psychological development.
Be the child yourself
as part of the play:
There goes a saying “Children also sometimes want to boss their parents”. So, you can present yourself as a child to your child. It will
make your baby a reflection of you. The most wonderful thing in such
representation is that you will get to see it with your own eyes how you, as a
mother, treat your child.
Indulge in drawing and
painting:
Without thinking too
much, get a piece of paper and some colors and start drawing or painting,
whatever you like, with your child. Since this is not a competition, do not
forget to say bravo to your child; no matter what he draws or paints. A little
appreciation from you will help grow much good feelings in your child, which
will also develop the relationship between you.
Go outside with your
sweetheart:
In lieu of keeping your
baby confined within house, take him/her outside for a little stroll. You can
also take his/her favorite ball as well. Regardless of the amount of time
outside, you should always try to give him/her pleasure. You can start a race
in which you let him/her win and see how happy the child becomes.
Keep in mind that children are eager to play with their parents. A little of your time may make him/her feel special. Consider that your child needs you regardless of what you play with him/her. With time, you will likely figure out what and how to play, what is good and what not.
